Watch out Chevy  Colorado and move aside Texas Longhorn Edition, Chevrolet plans to introduce the latest entry in their special edition lineup during one of America’s oldest and most prestigious auto shows of the year. The Chicago Auto Show, with roots stretching back to 1901, offers the perfect platform for Chevy to unveil the stunning 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Special Edition. General Motors has plans to debut the truck on February 14 (Valentine’s Day) in an effort to kindle a love affair between the Midnight Special and North American consumers.

The Midnight Special begins with a black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 1500 pickup, in your choice of double-cab or crew-cab models. The Silverado offers state-of-the-art technology in the form of a 4GLTE Hotspot that can accommodate up to 10 personal connectivity devices, your choice of either a 5.3-liter or 6.2-liter V8 engine, heated ten-way power front seats with memory settings and two-way adjustable lumbar, tilting and telescoping steering column, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-inch LCD touchscreen color interface, power folding mirrors, an auto dimming rearview mirror, a rearview camera, leather upholstery, a 110-volt auxiliary power supply outlet, power sliding rear-window, front and rear parking sensors, Bose premium audio system, and remote starting. The Silverado 1500 rides on a specially designed dual-purpose suspension that provides the perfect combination of a smooth highway ride with aggressive off-road capability.  All 2015 Z71 Silverado 1500s are equipped with a locking rear-differential, Hill Descent Control, and a trailering package.

The Midnight Special package adds an all black front-end with a body-colored grille, bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks, and fog lamps, black side moldings and black belt-line moldings. Specially designed 18-inch alloy wheels (in black, of course), wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Duratec all-terrain tires leave a healthy footprint while a custom black spray-in bedliner brings-up the rear. Exclusive Z71 badges on the doors and black bow ties on either end deliver the perfect finishing touch. “The Midnight special edition, like our recently announced Custom Sport Silverado, lets our dealers offer a custom look right from the factory,” said Sandor Piszar, Silverado marketing director. “Customers can get a monochrome exterior, black alloy wheels and other uplevel touches, while maintaining all of the dependability Chevy trucks are famous for — along with full factory warranty coverage.”

Chevrolet has plans to build approximately 5,000 Midnight Special Editions for the 2015 model year. Visit your local Chevrolet dealer, beginning in February 2015, to check pricing and availability or to place your order for your very own Midnight Special. Package prices vary between $1,595 and $1,995, depending upon the model.
