2003 to 2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Owners: Theives Are Targeting Your Vehicles

If you’re the owner of a 2003 to 2010 Ford F-250 or F-350, your vehicle is being targeted by car thieves, at least in Gainesville, Florida. The Gainesville Police Department has posted a video showing a securely locked F250 stolen in just over a minute from a local parking lot.

Gainesville Police have noted a string of Ford F250 and F-350 thefts, particularly the model years between 2003 and 2010. We haven’t seen any other reports of theft patterns, but the startling speed of how quickly this one leaves the parking lot should give all F-250 and F-350 owners pause.

Police noted that “Thieves are entering securely locked vehicles and stealing them within minutes. The thefts are usually occurring from parking lots of hotels and shopping centers.”

The Gainesville Police asked owners to make sure vehicles are secure and valuables aren’t left inside. They also suggest parking in well-lit areas that are more likely to be seen or covered by surveillance video.

If you know anything about the thefts, contact Gainesville Police at (352) 393-7500.

H/T to Lindsay Pirkle for the video
