The Dodge Viper and Dodge Challenger Demon are the kinds of cars people dream of owning one day. The only problem is neither of them is being built any longer. To mark the end of their production runs, Dodge put the final Viper and final Demon up for auction and they fetched a cool million dollars.
The final 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon and 2017 Dodge Viper were sold as a pair at the recent Barrett-Jackson Auction held at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Both cars were dressed in Viper Red, with the Challenger hand-painted to match the Viper after it left the assembly line.

“We know the power of the Dodge Viper and Dodge Challenger SRT Demon to put a smile on people’s faces; we’re smiling today because we know the power of this donation to the United Way,” said Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands, Dodge//SRT, Chrysler and FIAT – FCA North America. “These particular vehicles mark the end of their eras as the last vehicles of their kind to be built; it’s rare to have just one such vehicle cross the auction block, much less a pair at the same time.”
The final Viper ever produced was designed to match the first generation Viper RT/10 with its red paint and black interior. This 645-horsepower car also has carbon fiber accents, Alcantara leather seats, and a special badge on the instrument panel showing its VIN.
The Demon is an 840-horsepower monster with street-legal drag radials and its own Guinness World Record for achieving the first front-wheel lift in a production car. It also holds the record for the world’s fastest quarter-mile production car at 9.65 seconds certified by the National Hot Rod Association.
Unlike the Viper, which was produced for many years, production of the Demon was limited to only a single year. Even if you didn’t get the last Demon, any Demon is a unique and rare vehicle.

“The Ultimate Last Chance” auction lot included not just the cars, but other memorabilia like custom build sheets, authenticity letters, certification cars and even iPads with videos and photos. The $1 million auction price will go entirely to the United Way charity.
