safety recall update july 26 2015This week only two models met the criteria of over 100,000-units included in a single National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall. Sure, there are some other recalls for the week but none even came close to the minimum figure required to make this blue collar blog. You can check out the other recalls at the NHTSA website. There is even a vehicle identification number search. Just type-in your VIN and find out whether your vehicle is under a NHTSA recall, instantly.

Log onto BestRide.com for all the latest recall updates, automotive news and views, and millions of listings on top-quality new and used cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs. You can download an app for your phone so that you can track all of your favorite vehicles.

Remember to look inside of the driver door jamb (most vehicles) to find the production date (Month/Year) of your ride. This information can also help you to determine if your vehicle is currently under a NHTSA recall.

2015 hyundai sonataNHTSA Campaign Number: 15V414000
Hyundai Recall Campaign Number: 130

Vehicles Affected: Certain 2015 Hyundai Sonata vehicles manufactured from April 25, 2014 through December 4, 2014. Approximately 128,804 vehicles are expected for inclusion in this recall campaign.

Cause: The affected vehicles have a front passenger seat belt whose buckle latch assembly may prevent the front passenger from fastening the seat belt.

Concern: If the front passenger seat belt cannot be latched, an occupant sitting in the front passenger seat has an increased risk of injury in the event of a motor vehicle crash.

Correction: Hyundai will notify owners with detailed instructions about getting into contact with qualified dealers that will repair or replace the front passenger seat belt buckle, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 21, 2015. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-671-3059.

Vehicles Affected: Certain 2014-2015 Acura MDX and MDX AWD vehicles manufactured from April 23, 2013 through December 16, 2014. Approximately 106,439 vehicles are expected for inclusion in this recall campaign.

Cause: The affected vehicles have air conditioning compressor clutch drive bolts that may not have received the proper anti-corrosion coating.

Correction: Honda will notify owners with specific directions for locating qualified dealers to replace the air conditioning compressor clutch drive bolt and install a new clutch plate if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 31, 2015. Owners may contact Acura client relations at 1-800-382-2238.
