(Photos by Keith Griffin) There’s a press conference scheduled for 4:00 EST at the Miami Auto Show revealing the 2015 Hyundai Azera, but our sharp-eyed Keith Griffin shot a bunch of photos of at top of the line Limited trim before the conference.
The Azera’s fate was seriously in question as late as July, when AutoBlog reported that the redesigned Sonata was cutting into its entry-luxury territory:
Hyundai’s dealers call the Azera the “nicest car nobody knows about.” That’s according to Mike O’Brien, Hyundai Motor America’s vice president of corporate and product planning. Indeed, the fullsize sedan is a handsome, well-rounded machine, loaded with creature comforts. Yet it’s not selling well, and its space in Hyundai showrooms is about to get a whole lot more crowded thanks to the newly spruced-up 2015 Sonata. No surprise, then, that company officials admit that the model’s future in the US is uncertain.
Since the Azera’s Korean counterpart, the Hyundai Grandeur, hasn’t been updated significantly for 2015, this is pretty much a refresh of the 2015 model year. Obvious differences include LED foglamps at least on the Limited trim, and subtle differences in the interior details.
