Toyota RAV$ Hybrid Menus

Toyota offers several flavors of its Entune infotainment system. The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited comes standard with Entune Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite and JBL speakers as an upgrade. It has a long list of features the tech savvy will appreciate.

The system includes:

  • 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen with split screen display
  • AM/FM with cache radio
  • CD player
  • MP3/WMA playback capability
  • 11 JBL GreenEdge speakers with subwoofer and amplifier
  • Sirius XM All Access Radio with three-month free trial
  • Auxiliary audio jack
  • USB port with iPod connectivity and control
  • Advanced voice recognition
  • Hands-free phone book access and music streaming via Bluetooth wireless technology
  • Siri Eyes Free
  • Entune App Suite
  • HD radio
  • HD predictive traffic and doppler weather overlay
  • Gracenotes album cover art
  • Integrated backup camera display with projected path

The touchscreen is well-placed on the dashboard so it’s within easy reach of both driver and passenger and angled so it doesn’t pick up too much glare. Even with the sunroof open, the screen is still visible.

Menus are logical so you won’t be searching through endless screens to find what you want, but the screen isn’t always responsive. You’ll often be tapping the same spot more than once to select an option, which can be frustrating. Alternately, there are buttons on either side of the screen for commonly used selections like audio, apps, and home.

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Navigation

The navigation system is easy to program whether you want to enter a specific address, look for points of interest, or head back to someplace you’ve been to in the past. The display is easy to follow, focusing in to help you more easily navigate exits and city streets.

Pairing a phone is also quick and allows access to Siri Eyes Free if you happen to have an iPhone. This lets you use natural language voice commands to operate the phone and infotainment system. It is not the same thing as Apple Car Play, which is more fully integrated and advanced than Siri Eyes Free. Android Auto is not available.

The JBL speakers provide lush sound that fills the cabin with music. Favorite channels are easy to program. Gracenotes album cover art shows the album for most music choices or substitutes a generic cover when the actual cover isn’t available.

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Channels

The Entune App Suite provides access to Facebook Places, iHeartRadio,, OpenTable, Pandora, and Yelp. ¬†All apps are well-integrated and quick to access. The ability to find a restaurant or movie tickets when you’re on the go is a big plus.

Overall, the Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite is a strong performer. It provides a lot of features in a way that isn’t overwhelming and complicated. The more you use the system, the more intuitive it becomes and the more you’ll make use of its many features.

The major drawbacks are the touchscreen’s occasionally poor sensitivity and the absence of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
