In celebration of Earth Day, we’re highlighting five of the best EVs to make your BestRide. Every year automotive companies make more promises and investments in an all-electric future as regulators and public opinion demand cuts to global emissions. The resulting electric vehicles have a positive impact on public health and reduce ecological harm. As an added bonus, electric vehicles add a little bit of thrill to your driving experience with increased responsiveness due to their electric motors and enough torque to push you back into your seat. If you feel like you might be ready to hop into an all-electric chariot, these are some of your best options.

Ford Mustang Mach-E

The Mustang Mach-E is the first fully-electric crossover from Ford with the same name and design language as their iconic line of Mustangs. It boasts up to 305 miles of driving range and an option for all-wheel drive. This EV from Ford also keeps cargo space and passengers in mind by having its battery under its floor, maximizing interior room. In terms of connectivity, the Mustang Mach-E has everything you could want including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, the SYNC infotainment system can adjust each driver’s experience using machine learning. Key safety features such as forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist are also available.

Chevrolet Bolt EUV

Like the Bolt but need a little more space? The Chevrolet Bolt EUV is an SUV-style vehicle that might be just what you’re looking for! Due to the increase in size compared to its hatchback sibling, passengers can enjoy some extra rear-seat legroom. Within its stylish interior, comes a digital gauge display and large 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with climate control integration. Added connectivity options are also available. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV features standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control with a semi-autonomous driving mode is optional.

Volkswagen made a strong entrance to the electric vehicle market last year with the ID.4, a rear-wheel-drive SUV boasting up to 260 miles of driving range between each charge. Within its minimalistic yet stylish interior, you’ll find plenty of cargo space and tech options that should satisfy all passengers. Coming standard on the ID.4 is a 5.3-inch digital gauge display and a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen allowing for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, as well as standard navigation. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist come standard on all models with the ability to add adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode. The ID.4 is a great option for buyers who want their EV to look and feel like a normal car.

The Kia Niro EV is an especially viable option to go green this Earth Day. This is one of the most value-packed options on our list. Regardless of the model, Kia’s electric vehicle is well-equipped for its price point. An 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment is standard along with power front seats that are also heated and a 7-inch digital driver display. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity also come standard on all models. On the safety front, every Niro EV features automated emergency braking with forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. One last value proposition for the Kia Niro EV is its excellent warranty. You get a lot of bang for your buck in this one.

Audi e-tron

Looking for something a little more opulent? The Audi e-tron might be more your style. This EV is not only luxurious, but it arrives with all of the sportiness we’ve come to expect from the German brand. Audi’s electric offering features a tech-filled cabin that is comfortable for all passengers. The e-tron has dual touchscreens for infotainment and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, their new high-tech digital gauge cluster. Connectivity is no issue with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming standard. Safety also remains a focus with forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and more coming standard on all models. High-tech, sporty, and luxurious – the e-tron could be a home run hit for Audi and the environment.

So much of the chatter on Earth Day tends to be about sacrifices we should all be making for our environment. But with cars like these coming down the road, it’s becoming clear that there’s plenty to be gained from these changes as well. The all-electric future looks bright behind the wheel of these EVs.
